It all begins with a passion for working with beautiful timber.

There is nothing more satisfying than taking a beautiful piece of timber and creating something magical from it.

The transformation of raw hardwood into a finely crafted piece of art is a journey that begins with an appreciation for the inherent characteristics of the timber, crafting something that will provide enjoyment in its timeless beauty for generations.

I have been working with wood for almost fifty years creating pieces that make people happy. Pieces that aren’t just functional but when people set eyes upon them think “Wow, look at the grain or colours in that it’s stunning.”

Every piece is handcrafted in my home workshop at Moonee Beach on the NSW Mid-North Coast.

Each grain, knot, and hue tells a story waiting to be unveiled. As a skilled artisan, I immerse myself in this process, meticulously shaping and detailing each piece to enhance its natural beauty.

The final product reflects my passion and craftsmanship it also becomes a timeless addition to any space, evoking admiration and a sense of connection to nature.

Nothing is mass-produced, no two pieces are alike, each one may be the same size or type but the grain, edging and colours are unique as only a natural product created by nature can be.

I don’t just do chopping and serving boards, I love creating anything from timber and have even created stunning pink marble-topped coffee and side tables from American Mahogany whilst living in Saudi Arabia and working for British Aerospace Australia.

SAP is a play on words and an acronym of Sue (my wife) And Phil (me) the owners of SAP Woodcraft a family-owned business crafting exceptional bespoke timber furniture and homewares made from Australian Hardwoods.
