SAP Woodcraft creates beautiful Australian Hardwood furniture and essential items for home living.

SAP Woodcraft is a family business based in Moonee Beach on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.

We work with kiln-dried Australian hardwoods such as Blackbutt, Tallowwood, Blue Gum, Spotted Gum, Tasmanian Oak, Brushbox and Stringy Bark that have been locally sourced and harvested to stringent government guidelines and environmental practices.

Australian hardwood timber is a great choice for chopping boards as it’s both stunning in appearance and extremely durable, with naturally occurring antibacterial properties. Its tight grain helps to reduce the scoring of the chopping surface and liquid absorption and is easy to keep hygienically clean.

Depending on your personal preference, home décor, food preparation or serving needs, you can choose a custom cutting board, charcuterie board, or serving board made with:

  • Spotted Gum: Pale to dark browns with lots of character

  • Blackbutt: Light beige to honey tones

  • Bluegum: Light to medium pinky reds

  • Brushbox:  Greyish pink through to a reddish brown

  • Tallowwood: Pale to dark yellow-brown, with occasional tinges of olive green

  • Tasmanian Oak: Pale straw colour to medium brown

If you’d like a custom board or furniture piece or just information about the different timber species I’m always here to help. Contact us or enter the “Shop” page to place your order.

Our Story

“I first fell in love with crafting beautiful things from timber in high school woodworking classes almost 50 years ago”.

The name SAP is an acronym for my wife, Sue, and Phil (me) which is a nice play on words for this family business.

At SAP Woodcraft, I set out to create extraordinary masterpieces that bring endless joy to those who own them. I meticulously handpick locally sourced Australian Hardwoods to lovingly handcraft each piece in my Moonee Beach workshop, ensuring a lifetime of delight for the owner.

Nothing is mass-produced and every piece is unique.

I am passionate about wood, sounds cliche, but the love of wood and what it brings to our everyday lives has always been a big part of who I am.

I love the look and feel of natural timber. Every day we come into contact with wood that has been fashioned or crafted in some way or form that we use consciously or unconsciously, it is part of everything we do, see and touch.

Australian Hardwood is an extremely beautiful, natural and timeless product that has stood the test of time.

We use North Coast hardwoods which are some of the most sought-after timbers in the world. They possess incredible durability and strength as well as remarkable grains and patterns highlighting the warmth and feel of natural timber. Learn more here
